Dr. Cody Commander

Dr. Cody Commander is a Clinical & Sport Psychologist. He is the owner of Commander Counseling & Wellness and Commanding Performance. He is the former Director of Sport Psychology for the University of Oklahoma Athletics Department, where he worked for 12 years. He received his doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from Wright State University and completed his doctoral internship at Ball State University Counseling Center. He has worked in the clinical setting since 2003, treating various mental health disorders.
Areas of clinical focus include psychological testing, sport psychology, relational distress, anxiety disorders, ADHD and learning disabilities, eating disorders, trauma, and issues with self-esteem. Dr. Commander has served as a Board Director for the Oklahoma Psychological Association and has held leadership positions in other mental health and sport psychology organizations.
Dr. Commander is also a Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) from the Association of Applied Sport Psychology (AASP) and is registered with United States Olympic Committee. He has worked with various professional athletes and organizations, Olympic and Paralympic athletes and teams, collegiate athletes and programs, and elite youth athletes. He was the Mental Health Officer for Team USA at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.
